Lindberg Eyewear – Danish sleek minimalist design based on simple functionality.
Lindberg Eyewear – Denmark
It was only when the Danish Optometrist Paul-Jorn Lindberg first needed spectacles himself at the beginning of the 1980s that he became aware of what it was like to wear spectacles. The general approach was all too clear: "A spectacle frame is like a support you carry on your face – heavy, rigid and uncomfortable".
Starting out with the idea that it should be possible to make a spectacle that was more simple, attractive and functional, Paul-Jorn Lindberg teamed up with the architect Hans Dissing to design a different frame that turnned out to become the basis of a completely new eyewear concept - the AIR Titanium frame – which evolved into three concepts: 1) The full-rim RIM frame, 2) the distictive STRIP frame, and 3) the sports sunglasses SIRIUS Titanium. The Danish AIRTitanium glasses are the world's lightest titanium frame with a frame – weight of less than 3 grams. They are free of screws, rivets and solderings. A simple, unobtrusive construction that never distracts the attention from the face.
